Our Fall Rut Moose Hunt takes place during the rut from late September to early October. The area that we hunt is very remote with virtually no resident hunting pressure. With only winter roads or helicopter access, it would be unlikely to meet another person while hunting. These factors contribute to a high percentage of mature bulls.

As this is a rut hunt, your guide will be doing a fair amount of calling. There is nothing like hearing the grunt of a bull moose responding to your call crashing through the brush. This is when the excitement starts. During calling, moose may appear unexpectedly or may be around the next bend so you must always be prepared and ready to shoot.

These are 7 day hunts plus 1 day on each end for travel to and from camp. We have 2 different camps with 2 different scenarios and comfort levels. A Black Bear tag may be purchased at a nominal fee if available and weather permits.

Argo Camp

This camp is located approximately 16 miles in by tracked Argo . The area we are hunting is in prime moose habitat with an Aspen / Spruce mix along creeks and drainage’s. Hunting is done in a variety of different areas form camp using the Argos to access them. The hunt accommodation is in wall tents with a separate dining and guide tent Canoes may be used in addition to the argos.

Fly in Camp

This is a truly remote hunt is accessed only by helicopter. It will be a rustic camp based out of a wall tent on a remote lake or creek with few amenities. Method of travel in these areas will be boat or foot.

We only harvest mature bulls on this hunt and we have been averaging bull 50”+. As we are flying, there is a weight restriction of 75 pounds per hunter and is done only on a two hunter per guide basis.
